BEVERLY HILLS, January 15, (THEWILL) –Â At least 10 persons have reportedly died as gas tanks at the Second Coming gas station in the Magodo area of Lagos exploded on Monday resulting in an inferno.
The inferno, which was triggered by a spark from a car at the station, has already spread to surrounding buildings on CMD Road, opposite Magodo Brooks Estate.
Operatives of the Lagos State Fire Service, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) are currently at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Spokesman, Bisi Kazeem, has urged motorists to take alternative routes until the area is safe.
The extent of damage is unknown at this moment but firemen have arrived at the scene and put out the fire.
