December 23, (THEWILL) – No fewer than eleven members of staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), were presented with the Authority’s Managing Director, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku’s quarterly award for excellence at the December edition of the award for the year 2024.
Some of the awardees from different airports across the country include: Chukwulobe Onyedikachukwu, Ojima Ojo Ochema, Kingsley Ikechukwu, Ezekiel Emmanuel Baku, Salome Vot, Daniel Ehihi, Babalola Arema Kazeem, Usman Abdullahi, amongst others.
Engr Onyedikachukwu, who works at Benin airport was specifically applauded for his efforts in seeing that the power system remains stable.
In his citation, he was lauded for spending his personal resources to ensure a stable power supply at the airport.
Presenting the awards to the recipients at an event organised to mark Kuku’s one year of impactful leadership in FAAN at the Authority’s Headquarters in Lagos, Kuku commended the awardees, urging them to keep it up.
The FAAN MD equally commended workers of FAAN, stating that she also owes the indelible experience to God, the staff of FAAN, the directors and the management.
“It is not just the work we have done but the spirit we have done it well together. I am grateful for the sacrifices. Thank you for being the force behind the success.
“This past year as the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has been nothing short of a thrilling journey. I owe this incredible experience to the unwavering support and dedication of our staff and fellow directors.
“Your commitment and hard work have been the backbone of our achievements, and I am deeply thankful for each one of you. It’s not just about the work we’ve done but the spirit with which we’ve done it. Together, we’ve faced challenges head-on and celebrated victories that have brought us closer as a team. I am truly grateful for the sacrifices you’ve made and the passion you’ve shown. It’s your dedication that has made this year the most fulfilling of my career.
“Thank you for being the driving force behind our success. I would love to thank His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his confidence in me and for giving me this unique opportunity to contribute my quota to the progress and growth of this great nation. I also want to thank my leader, the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, for his steadfast support and guidance throughout this first year.

I also thank the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr Emmanuel Meribole, and all the staff at the ministry for their assistance and tolerance. To the staff, management and my fellow directors, we couldn’t have come this far without your commitment, drive and innovations. Thanks for taking my calls at odd hours and jumping on flights without hesitation. I am eternally grateful to you all”, Kuku said.
The award presentation also coincided with the launch of the Occupational Safety and Health Manual and Aerodrome General Safety Handbook with directors and other management of FAAN in attendance.
