December 23, (THEWILL) – A pro-democracy organisation, Royal People’s Platform (RPP), has taken a critical look at the current presidential candidates seeking Nigerians’ mandate to be their president next year and declared that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is the one the country deserves to have as a leader for now.
The organisation, which is an integral part of a campaign outfit, National Independent Campaign for Tinubu (NICOT), through its leader, Comrade Dare Aladekoba, in a statement said, “We have examined the antecedence of all the candidates and come to the conclusion that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is the right man for the job.”
According to the statement, all the political and electoral indices examined pointed to the indisputable fact that the former two-term governor of Lagos State has all it takes to move the country forward after President Muhammadu Buhari, pointing out that “if experience is the best teacher, Tinubu has it in abundance and should be allowed to utilise the experience to better the lot of the citizenry.”
The statement added that “with Tinubu’s executive and legislative acumen, coupled with his penchant for human development and resources management, Nigeria needs no stress searching for any Messiah anywhere since one is already at the door, asserting that “the rein of this country can be handed over to him while the country would be sure of reaching the Eldorado.”
While promising to deploy the entire formidable arsenal within its disposal to complement with the existing campaign structure across the Country, the Platform reasoned that Tinubu’s Presidency in 2023 is a task that should be accomplished for the collective interests of the citizenry, admonishing that “this is a rare golden opportunity Nigerians should not allow to slip by.
“It Is against this background that the Platform urged Nigerians to ensure that Tinubu is given their mandate next year to take over the leadership of the country if truly they prefer progress to stagnation after President Muhammadu Buhari, insisting that “the only candidate out there now who can make a meaningful impact after Buhari is Tinubu.
“This is the man that has paid his dues towards the restoration of democracy in the country through tears and wears. He knows how it is to fight for democracy, especially against the military and he should know how painful it could be when the hard-earned democratic process is handed to someone that can mess it up”, the group warned, advising that the cap fits Tinubu and he should be allowed to wear if for the benefit of the generality of Nigerians, home and abroad.
