Tinubu was received by Governor Dapo Abiodun, his Deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, former governor Gbenga Daniel, former governor and national leader of the party, Olusegun Osoba; former Ogun central senator, Gbenga Obadare; Olubara of Ibara, Jacob Omolade; and other APC leaders in the state, who were already on the ground.

The former Lagos State governor immediately went straight into a closed door meeting with Obasanjo at the penthouse residence within the OOPL.

While the meeting was on-going, hundreds of APC supporters sang and danced outside Mr Obasanjo’s home.

While details of the meeting remained sketchy, sources say it is not unconnected with the 2023 general elections.

Obasanjo and Tinubu had been at loggerheads since the former, as the then president, withheld the local government allocation for Lagos State when the latter was the state governor.

In 2013, Tinubu had visited Obasanjo, to appeal that he joins the APC.

Earlier this year, the former Lagos governor also attended the 78th birthday lecture of the former President in Abeokuta.
