April 27, (THEWILL) — An aspirant for the Kano Central Senatorial seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkarim Zaura (AA Zaura), has urged Nigerians to re-elect President Bola in the 2027 general elections to enable him to continue with the implementation of his transformative programmes.
Zaura made the call on Monday while declaring his intention to contest for the Kano Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 National Assembly elections.
According to him, President Tinubu had been pursuing laudable initiatives, particularly in the economy and the infrastructure sectors, for the benefit of all Nigerians, and therefore needs a fresh mandate in 2027 to enable him to consolidate on the gains.
Similarly, Zaura appealed to the people of Kano State to give Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf a second mandate in 2027, so as to consolidate on his giant development strides in the state.
The APC senatorial aspirant noted that Governor Yusuf had achieved a lot in the provision of infrastructure, including the construction of roads, bridges, schools, hospitals and clinics, such that a second term for him would enable him to sustain the feat.
On his bid for the Kano Central Senatorial position, Zaura said he is seeking the mandate to restore purposeful representation and return the zone to its rightful place at the centre of national relevance, economic opportunity, and effective representation.
If given the mandate, he said, he will push for expanded access to quality education and invest in modern skills, digital technology, innovation hubs, and vocational excellence for the people of the district, especially the youth.
“We will facilitate federal support for critical infrastructure, roads, housing (especially for vulnerable families), and rural development. We will also drive legislation that boosts agriculture, enhances food security, addresses issues of nutrition and strengthens the backbone of our local economy.
“We will strengthen legislative backing for improved security architecture, expand impactful initiatives like the Streets to Straight Project (End Daba), and aggressively tackle drug abuse, gangsterism, and street criminality, so that our communities can be safe and productive”, Zaura said.
He also expressed his intention to reconnect Kano Central to the APC at both the state and national levels, “so that our people can fully benefit from government programs, strategic investments, and national opportunities.”
“I will be available in the red chamber to introduce important legislation and move substantive motions in line with our legislative agenda priorities, organise town hall meetings and constituency outreaches and be a strong voice of influence in the red chamber.
“With me as your Senator, the people of Kano Central will be rescued from the sidelines and mainstreamed in the heart of national governance and opportunities. Kano Central must be at the table where decisions are made.
“Come 2027, Kano Central will return to its days of glory and positive influence in National politics for the development of our people”, he added.
