
September 26, (THEWILL) – The Speaker, House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has declared vacant the seats of Tunji Olubunmi-Ojo and Tanko Sununu, who were appointed ministers by President Bola Tinubu.
Abbas declared the seats vacant after reading the separate letters of resignation from the two former lawmakers on Tuesday, at plenary.
Before his appointment as Minister of Interior, Olubunmi-Ojo was the federal lawmaker representing Akoko Northeast and Northwest Federal Constituency of Ondo State, in the House of Representatives.
Also, Sununu, Minister of State for Education, was the House of Representative member representing Yauri/Shanga/Ngaski federal constituency of Kebbi State.
Meanwhile, the House has sworn in Salisu Majigiri and administered the oath of office to him.
Majigiri was declared by the Supreme Court as the winner of the Mashi/Dutsi federal constituency of Katsina State, after dismissing a case against him.
