March 05, (THEWILL) – ABC Transport PLC, a leading Nigerian road transportation company, has expanded its trucking capacity further with the deployment of a new fleet of purpose-built, heavy-duty bulk cement carriers.
This development comes just a few months after the company introduced Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks to enhance cement haulage operations for Lafarge Africa PLC.
The newly added vehicles are designed to transport large tonnes of cement from Lafarge’s factory to construction sites across the country, where demand remains strong. As a result, ABC Transport’s annual bulk cement delivery capacity has risen to 150,000 tons.
The road transport company, which recently marked its 32nd anniversary, has also acquired a site near Lafarge’s Cross River cement factory to streamline truck maintenance and turnaround efficiency.
Commenting on the expansion, ABC Transport’s Managing Director, Mr Jude Nneji, explained that the investments aim to consolidate the significant achievements of ABC Haulage.
Nneji added: “The fleet expansion strengthens ABC Haulage’s role as a key logistics partner for Lafarge, ensuring nationwide cement distribution. This move will further solidify ABC Haulage’s position, which—alongside Cargo Express—accounts for over 60% of ABC Transport PLC operations.”
