
November 22, (THEWILL) – The Adamawa State Police Command says its operatives, on Wednesday, repelled attack by gunmen at its headquarters in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government.
Spokesperson for the Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident in a statement.
“The attack was repelled, but the identities of those behind it was unknown”, said Nguroje, adding that things were under control.
A report by Daily Trust, said an unverified source alleged that the attackers were military personnel on a revenge mission, following the alleged killing of a military officer by the police.
However, the police said investigations were ongoing to ascertain the cause of the attack and those behind it.
