Aug 04, (THEWILL) — The Akwa Ibom Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening security across the state with a renewed focus on intelligence-led policing, operational efficiency and personnel welfare.
The commitment was made on Monday, during the Command’s Monthly Strategic Conference presided over by the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, at the Police Headquarters in Uyo.
The conference brought together senior officers to review the prevailing security situation across the state, assess ongoing operations and fine-tune strategies to improve crime prevention, intelligence gathering, public safety and service delivery.
Addressing the officers, the Commissioner of Police urged them to remain disciplined, proactive and professional in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.
He also emphasised the need for sustained inter-agency collaboration, intelligence gathering and operational effectiveness to consolidate the Command’s security gains.
A major highlight of the event was the decoration of two newly promoted Assistant Commissioners of Police following their elevation from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police.
The officers decorated were ACP Nnudam Korsere Fredrick and ACP Augustine Udourioh Joseph.
Congratulating the officers, CP Azare described their promotion as a recognition of merit and a call to greater responsibility, urging them to demonstrate exemplary leadership, integrity, accountability and dedication to the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.
The event also featured a Hepatitis screening exercise organised by the Command’s Medical Services Department to commemorate World Hepatitis Day.
According to the Command, the health initiative was designed to promote early detection, increase awareness of hepatitis, encourage preventive healthcare and reinforce the importance of regular medical check-ups among police personnel.
The Commissioner stressed that the health, welfare and professional development of officers remain critical to effective policing, assuring residents that the Command would continue to strengthen its operational capacity and sustain proactive policing measures to protect lives and property across Akwa Ibom State.
