June 01, (THEWILL) – The Sarkin Fulani of Lagos State, His Royal Highness, Dr Mohammed Bambado II, has called on traders at the Rago Market located at Ojo in Lagos, to maintain peace and remain law abiding.
The monarch, in a statement he personally signed and issued to the media on Wednesday, said after an appeal he made to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor, on behalf of the Lagos State government has reversed its earlier pronouncement that the traders should quit the market and has allowed the traders in Alaba Rago to continue with their legitimate business in the market, pending a formal agreement.
Bambado II said he is, therefore, calling on the traders and business entrepreneurs in Alaba Rago to remain calm and maintain a law-abiding environment free from delinquent activities, pending the arrangement from the government and the parties concerned.
He thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for being a listening governor, realising that the step earlier taken by his administration was not meant to be punitive, but truly to pave way for development to continue.
It would be recalled that a few days ago, Lagos State  government gave the traders at the market two weeks ultimatum to quit the vicinity with a view to giving the government the space for more development to take place in the area.
