November 04, (THEWILL) – American talk show host, Oprah Winfrey, has cried out over a weight loss products scam bearing her name and image.
The weight loss product is being sold online and it was alleged to have been endorsed by Winfrey.
Scammers took advantage of the fact that Winfrey has lost a lot of weight over the years, so a lot of people believed the product is her weight-loss secret.
The 68-year-old media mogul took to Instagram to address the weight-loss product everyone is trying to get their hands on, saying she does not endorse edible weight-loss products.
She made a short video after being approached five times in one week by different people looking for the product.
“And so, it happened to me again today, a woman came up to me and said, ‘can you help me get your weight loss gummies?
“And I said, ma’am, I don’t have anything to do with weight loss gummies and let me tell you, you’re the fifth person coming to tell me, so I am going to address it. This is my attempt to address it.
“It’s coming to my attention, many times over, somebody is out there, misusing my name. Even sending emails to people, advertising weight loss gummies.
“I have nothing to do with weight loss gummies or diet pills and I don’t want you all taken advantage of by people misusing my name,” she told her 21.6 million Instagram followers.
