May 06, (THEWILL) – Another batch of 131 Nigerian evacuees fleeing war-torn Sudan, arrived in Abuja, on Saturday.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) said the returnees, mostly women and children, landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Saturday afternoon.
They were received by officials of the Federal Government, who expressed optimism that the process would be completed.
THEWILL had reported that a second batch of 130 evacuees arrived in Nigeria on Friday afternoon, aboard a Tarco Airline aircraft. Earlier, on Wednesday night, the first batch of 176 evacuees arrived in the country.
More Nigerians are expected to arrive in the coming days as four other airlines including Air Peace, Max Air, Azman Air, and Tarco Aviation are expected to convey them back to Nigeria.
