
March 10, (THEWILL) – A fuel tanker exploded on Thursday on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, after it had a collision with two buses.
Spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Ogun Command, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident in a terse statement issued in Abeokuta.
She said, “A multiple crash involving a Tanker and two other vehicles just occurred around mountain of fire church, on the outward section of the LAGOS-IBADAN Expressway.
“There is an outbreak of fire at the scene. Motorists are advised to drive cautiously and remain calm until the fire is extinguished.”
Also, the Ogun Sector Commander of the Corps (FRSC), Ahmed Umar, who confirmed the development, advised motorists to drive cautiously and remain calm until the resultant fire is extinguished.
Umar assured that FRSC personnel and sister agencies were on ground to ensure orderliness.
THEWILL reported that a fuel tanker had exploded on Wednesday, at Mobil Filling Station in Mushin area of Lagos, burning a three-storey building.
