SAN FRANCISCO, June 27, (THEWILL) – Ex-Jigawa governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido has argued that if the present economic hardship in the country was caused by the sins of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as claimed by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, John Odigie-Oyegun, then APC is a gathering of sinners since the present ruling party was formed by PDP members.
Lamido, who made this assertion on Sunday while fielding questions from newsmen in his village, Bamaina, Jigawa State, explained that the APC got a chance to win the 2015 general election because of the support of PDP members, who defected to APC few months to the polls.
Stressing that most of those who built the APC were serving governors and ministers, Lamido maintained that if PDP committed sins during its 16 years in power with people like Kwankwaso, Wammako, Amaechi, Tambuwal, Ganduje, Atiku and many others produced and born by PDP, that makes APC a coalition of sinners.
“If the present economic meltdown and hardship is caused by PDP, then APC was born by great sinners and without PDP sinners, APC would not have taken power during the last general election,” he stated.
The former governor, who accused the ruling party of achieving nothing within its one year in office, asserted that APC was rather making mistakes that have plunged the nation into its present economic meltdown.
Lamido further related the security challenges bedeviling the nation and Niger Delta region in particular to social injustice among Nigerians and the leadership in particular.
