December 09, (THEWILL) — The 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, Sokoto, has decorated four senior officers who were elevated from the rank of Colonel to Brigadier General.
The officers honoured at the ceremony include Brigadier General Mansur Tijani, Deputy Chief of Staff Administration, Brigadier General Husaini Toro, Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, Brigadier General Abdulmalik Aboki Adamu, Commander 58 Signals Brigade, and Brigadier General David Chidozie Ibeh, Commander 8 Division Medical Services and Hospital.
The decoration ceremony, held on Monday at the Eagles Officers’ Mess in Sokoto, drew senior military personnel, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the newly elevated generals.
In his remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division and Commander Sector 2, Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji, Major General Ibikunle Ajose, commended the officers for their meritorious service, discipline, and commitment to duty.
He also described their promotion as a well-deserved milestone, reflective of their professionalism and unwavering dedication to national security.
“Their achievements underscore the strength, values, and operational excellence of the Nigerian Army”, Ajose noted that the officers had demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities in their respective roles.
He further applauded the families of the newly promoted generals, acknowledging their sacrifice and support as the backbone of the officers’ success.
Speaking on behalf of the decorated officers, Brigadier General Abdulmalik Aboki Adamu expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Chief of Army Staff for the confidence reposed in them.
He also praised Major General Ajose for his mentorship and exemplary leadership within the division.
He described the promotion as a call to greater service. “We pledge to redouble our efforts, exceed expectations, and continue serving our nation with integrity, courage, and distinction”, Adamu said.
