
May 15, (THEWILL) – Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has surrendered himself to police authorities at the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, following an order for his arrest by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba.
The IGP had, on Saturday, ordered Seun’s arrest following video footage where he was captured slapping a police officer.
While police operatives could not find Seun when they visited his residence on Sunday, the Afrobeat singer, on Monday, surrendered himself to the police for investigation.
He was later transferred to the State Criminal Intelligence Department in Panti, Yaba area of the State. He was accompanied by Femi Falana, a senior lawyer.
