Lawyer and founding partner of Banwo and Ighodalo, Asue Ighodalo has been appointed as the new non-executive Chairman, Nigerian Breweries Plc.

Ighodalo, who is the immediate past chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, NESG, will resume his official duty as the non-executive chairman in May. His appointment was made at a board meeting held in April in line with the company’s succession plan. This development came after the retirement of Kolawole Jamodu, the former chairman of Nigerian Breweries. l

The astute lawyer joined the board of the largest brewing company in Nigeria in 2022. With more than 35 years of experience as a legal luminary and a leading figure in corporate Nigeria. Ighodalo who is elder brother to the founder of Trinity House Church, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, sits on the boards of other reputable organizations including, Sterling Bank Plc. and Levene Energy Group and also Okomu Oil Palm Plc.

He spent five years as the chairman of NESG before bowing out in November 2022, at the end of the 28th summit of the group.

His wife, Ifeyinwa, has since been gushing over her husband of 33 years for the laudable feat.

She took to social media to celebrate him while calling him her chair. She also listed the number of companies he sits atop as the chairman. The news about Ighodalo’s new role coincided with their 33 years wedding anniversary which made the delectable woman shower praises and prayers on him.
