
SAN FRANCISCO, May 28, (THEWILL) – The new militant group wrecking havoc on the nation’s oil installations, the Niger Delta Avengers on Saturday said its fighters blew up Shell and Agip pipelines in Bayelsa state.
Though the Niger Delta Avengers did not give reason for the attack, sources in the creek told THEWILL that the attack was in reaction to statement credited to Bayelsa state governor, Sariake Dickson where he described the Avengers as a brigandage and criminals.
The group confirmed the attack in its Twitter handle around 6: 29 on Saturday morning threatening further that; “Something Big is About to Happen”.
The attacks which affected pipelines are in Nembe 1, 2 and 3 communities in Brass Local Government area of the state.
The pipeline which runs from Brass to Bonny Truck Line in River state belongs to Shell Petroleum Development Company and Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC).
“At About 2;15am on Saturday the @NDAvengers blow up Nembe 1, 2 and 3 Brass to Bonny Trunk Line belonging to Agip and Shell”.
