Reports had it that the group on Wednesday met with the minister and others at the government house in Asaba, Delta State.
Reacting however, via its Twitter handle, NDA debunked the online report, saying that it did not hold any dialogue with the minister.
It stated that anybody who claimed to have represented it at the said meeting was a “political jobber.”
A message on its tweeter handle: @NDavengers on Friday reads, “According to SaharaReporter, Niger Delta Avenger, NDA, and the Nigerian government had a meeting in Asaba, Delta State to Dialogue.
“We want to say it’s a lie and anybody parading themselves as Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, representatives are political jobbers.
“@SaharaReporters THEY ARE NOT OUR REPRESENTATIVES.”
There were reports that the minister only met with stakeholders from the riverine areas of the state, especially Gbaramatu Kingdom and other parts of Warri South West local government area.
Among those at the meeting were the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, chairman of the Delta Waterways and Land Security Committee, Chief Boro Opudu, Commissioner Mofe Pirah, who is in charge of Oil and Gas and Mr. David Tonwe, a senior aide to the governor on security.
Others at the meeting are Chief Godspower Gbenekama, Chief Daniel Ekpebide, who represented Gbaramatu kingdom. Chief Ayiri Emami representative of Itsekiri ethnic group and an Okerenkoko leader, Chief Michael Johnny.
