
November 12, (THEWILL) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has adjourned the collation of results of the Bayelsa State gubernatorial election until 3pm on Sunday, November 12.
The Returning Officer for the election and Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, made the announcement at the State Collation Centre in Yenagoa on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, incumbent Governor Duoye Diri has taken the lead in three local government election results so far declared by the commission.
In Yenagoa Local Government Area, Diri polled 37,777 votes, while Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 14,534 votes.
Diri also beats his closest rival, the APC candidate and former Minister of State for Petroleum, Sylva, in Kolokuma/Opokuma, and Ogbia Local Government Areas.
The results of three LGAs so far announced by the Commission are:

The announcement of results of the remaining five local governments will continue at 3:00 p.m.
