March 11, (THEWILL) — Bank of Industry (BoI) and Global Entrepreneurship Network Nigeria (GEN Nigeria) have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration to expand opportunities for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.
The renewed partnership was highlighted during a courtesy visit by GEN Nigeria to BoI, where members of the delegation congratulated Oluwatoyin Edu on his recent appointment as Executive Director in charge of MSMEs at the development finance institution.
The visit also provided an opportunity to formally welcome Edu as BoI’s representative on the GEN Nigeria Advisory Board. BoI occupies the position as part of its strategic role in supporting Nigeria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and promoting small business growth both locally and globally.
During the meeting, GEN Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with BoI to empower entrepreneurs through capacity-building initiatives, ecosystem development programmes and improved access to its global entrepreneurship network.
Stakeholders noted that stronger collaboration between financial institutions and entrepreneurship networks is essential to improving access to finance, mentorship and international markets for Nigerian MSMEs.
The partnership is expected to support innovation, stimulate business expansion and strengthen the contribution of small businesses to Nigeria’s economic development.
MSMEs remain a vital pillar of the Nigerian economy, accounting for a significant share of employment and business activity nationwide.
