October 28, (THEWILL) — Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has declared that the state remains a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and firmly loyal to the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Zulum made the remark on Monday in Maiduguri during the flag-off of the APC North-East membership e-registration workshop, which brought together national party leaders, state executives, lawmakers, and local government chairmen.
He assured the party that his administration would provide full support to ensure the success of the exercise across the region.
“I want to assure you that the Government of Borno State under my leadership will provide the desired support to ensure the success of the APC membership e-registration exercise in the North-East,” Zulum said.
“Our party members in states governed by other political parties will also be supported to get captured,” he added.
Reaffirming Borno’s political stance, the governor declared, “Let there be no doubt in anyone’s mind — Borno State is 100 percent APC. Our loyalty to the party and its leadership is absolute.”
He recalled the state’s difficult years before the APC came to power, noting that insecurity, economic collapse, and displacement had defined life in Borno.
“But look at where we are today. The narrative is shifting, and this shift is due to the relentless efforts and massive support from the APC-led Federal Government,” he said.
Zulum praised both the former President, Muhammadu Buhari, and President Tinubu for their support to the North-East, citing the establishment of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and ongoing federal collaboration to restore peace and rebuild communities.
He stated, “Under President Tinubu, this support has not wavered — it has been strengthened.
“The President has shown a deep commitment to the final restoration of peace in Borno and the entire North-East.
“The Federal Government is actively collaborating with our administration to ensure the safe resettlement of our people and the rebuilding of their livelihoods.”
He described the APC as a “true partner” in Borno’s recovery journey, adding that the party’s governance at the federal level had brought stability and opportunity to the region.
“For the first time, our son became the Vice President of Nigeria under the APC,” he said.
Zulum also used the occasion to rally support for President Tinubu’s second-term bid in 2027,
