November 02, (THEWILL) – The Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN) has met with the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, over the recent siege by security operatives on the residence of Supreme Court judge, Justice Mary Peter-Odili.
The group, led by a foremost senior lawyer, Chief Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), specifically demanded an immediate investigation into the siege.
Heavily armed security operatives had last Friday laid siege for hours at the Maitama, Abuja residence of Justice Peter-Odili seeking access into the house over alleged criminal activities.
BOSAN, who condemned the act, warned that the development is a threat to the independence of the judiciary and, by extension, the nation’s democracy.
Awomolo, who briefed newsmen after the meeting, said the group also planned to meet with the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) on the issue.
