October 4, (THEWILL) – Balarabe Lawal Abbas, a Ministerial nominee, collapsed in the Senate during screening for confirmation on Wednesday.
The Senate immediately went into executive session amid efforts to resuscitate Abbas
THEWILL reports that President Bola Tinubu had, on Tuesday, asked the Senate to screen and confirm Abbas along with two other nominees, Jamila Bio Ibrahim and Olawale Olawande, as Ministers.
Abbas, a former Secretary to the Kaduna State Government under the immediate past Governor, Nasir Elrufai, was retained as SSG by Governor Uba Sani.
He replaced El-Rufai, who earlier, failed security clearance as Ministerial nominee from Kaduna State.
