June 03, (THEWILL) – Renewing or applying for your international passport abroad, including in North America, is now seamless for Nigerians aged 18 and above.
A top Ministry of Interrior official told THEWILL on Tuesday.
This development is part of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo’s progressive reforms adopting technology to remove bottlenecks associated with visas and passports issuance in Nigeria and diaspora.
Under the new system, there will be no more visits to the embassy required.
To access the service, simply download the NIS Mobile App from the Google Play Store on any smart device and follow the guided steps.
Once approved, your passport will be delivered to you via courier service in record time, no delays.
The service will also be available on the Apple App Store starting June 15, 2025.
Please note that the Nigerian government has not authorised any third-party company to process passport applications.
