President Buhari receives in audience Governor of Sokoto State H.E. Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal in State House on 9th Oct 2017

SAN FRANCISCO, October 09, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, met three Northern governors separately at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The three governors that met the President are Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State; Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state; and, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa state.

Speaking with State House correspondents after the meeting, Gaidam said he visited the President to felicitate with him on his health recovery and return to Nigeria from medical trip.

He added that he also made a request for the refund of N13 billion the state spent on security issues during the last administration and also to solicit assistance from the Federal Government for the resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

Governor Tambuwal, on his part, said that he came to discuss with the President on security situations in the country and the need for exploration of oil at the Sokoto belt to increase the economic base of the country.

Governor Badaru revealed that he came to brief the President on the efforts of the Committee he is heading which is working on how to diversify the economy with focus on exploring non-oil sector.
