May 10, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari is seeking the approval of the Senate, for a new loan request of $800 million.
President Buhari conveyed his request in a letter read by Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, at plenary on Wednesday.
According to the letter, the loan would be utilised to scale up the National Social Safety Net Programme.
He added that the loan would be sourced from the World Bank.
In another letter, the president transmitted a Bill for the establishment of the Nigeria Police Force College Training School and Institution, for consideration and approval by the Senate.
