BEVERLY HILLS, February 15, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari, who is on vacation and routine medical check-up in the United Kingdom, has thanked Nigerians for their prayers and kind wishes on his health.
The President, in a tweet on his verified handle @MBuhari confirmed receiving the leadership of the National Assembly at the Abuja House in London.
THEWILL recalls that the Senate President Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and Senate Leader Ahmad Lawan on Wednesday left Abuja for London to see the President.
“Pleased to receive Senate President Bukola Saraki, Speaker Yakubu Dogara and Senate leader Ahmad Lawan tonight.
“I thank them for visiting. I’m also grateful to Nigerians, Christians and Muslims alike, for their prayers and kind wishes on my health,” the President tweeted.
THEWILL recalls that the presiding officers of the National Assembly, last Wednesday, said they had telephone conversations with the President.
Sources reveal that they were invited by the President who reportedly asked the Senate president to come over to London for a “discussion,” which was not disclosed.
The visit of the principal officers to London followed last week’s visit by All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and erstwhile interim Chairman of the APC Chief Bisi Akande.
