March 23, (THEWILL) – In a bid to improve cash availability, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has released N52 billion in cash to commercial banks in the country.
The apex bank also directed the banks to open all branches in all states this Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 4pm to serve customers’ cash needs.
THEWILL earlier reported that the Central Bank of Nigeria, on Thursday, released the old Naira notes to deposit money banks to ease the current cash crunch across the country.
Confirming the development, a top official of the apex bank said, similar cash would be released subsequently.
