BEVERLY HILLS, August 28, (THEWILL) – Popular entertainer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has led a protest to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja to demand the extradition of former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, from the UK to Nigeria.
The protesters, who converged on the premises of the anti-graft agency, displayed a banner which read, ‘Bring Back Diezani Alison-Madueke’ similar to the ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ (BBOG) campaign.
Alison-Madueke has been linked to several corruption cases with some pieces of property and huge sums in banks, allegedly belonging to her, have been seized by the government but the former Minister insists that she has no case to answer and that the pieces of property linked to her were not hers.
She is said to be receiving medical treatments for cancer in the United Kingdom which curiously, became public as her corruption travails began.
THEWILL recalls that Charly Boy, two weeks ago, led a series of protests under the aegis of ‘Our Mumu Don Do’ to demand that President Muhammadu Buhari either resumes office or resign.
He was however, attacked by hoodlums at Wuse market in the Federal Capital Territory leading to the end of the protests.
