May 15, (THEWILL) – The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, Hilda Effiong Bassey’s home State, has taken to Twitter to pen words of encouragement to her and to cheer her on.
“I spoke with Hilda Baci this evening and commended her for representing the best attributes of the Akwa Ibom woman, for her passion and determination to break the Guinness World record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual,” Emmanuel tweeted.
“This is what our Dakkada philosophy is all about; the determination to dare and conquer what others thought to be impossible. I salute her for putting our culinary skills on full display and of course, our nationally and internationally celebrated cuisines.
“She is an inspiration to millions of Nigerians, especially our dear Akwaibomites. We are all solidly behind her as She embarks on this inspirational moment. We look forward to hosting her soon,” Udom added.
Similarly, former Vice President of Nigeria and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, penning his words of encouragement to Hilda wrote, “We see you, Chef Hilda, standing at the crossroads of history, ready to carve your name in the annals of world records.
“This is no easy feat, but we believe wholeheartedly in your grit and your passion. You are inspiring millions by showcasing the strength of the human spirit. May your energy remain unbroken, for you are on the brink of making history. We believe in you. Nigeria believes in you.”
Fondly called Jollof queen, the 27-year-old owns ‘My Food by Hilda’, a fast food restaurant located in Lagos.
Hilda, who is also an actress and a television producer, has shown her culinary skills on various Television Cook shows and represented Nigeria at the Jollof Face Off Competition in 2021, emerging as the winner.
