December 08, (THEWILL) – The Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Port-Harcourt Division, Justice Joseph Shagbaor Ikyegh has died at age 65.
Justice Ikyegh died at his residence in Makurdi, on Wednesday afternoon.
Born and raised in Benue State, Justice Ikyegh embarked on an illustrious legal career that spanned several decades. Known for his unwavering commitment to upholding justice, he was recognised as a beacon of fairness and integrity within the judiciary.
After obtaining his law degree from a prestigious Nigerian university, Justice Ikyegh was called to the Bar and began his legal practice in earnest.
His exceptional skills and dedication soon gained him recognition, and he was appointed as a High Court judge in Benue State. His judicious decisions and meticulous approach to the law earned him widespread respect from his peers and the legal community.
With a reputation for being thorough and impartial, Justice Ikyegh was elevated to the Court of Appeal, Port-Harcourt Division, where he presided over numerous complex and high-profile cases.
