BEVERLY HILLS, January 6, (THEWILL) – A Kwara State High Court has issued an order restraining the Kwara State government from taking further action on “Ile-Arugbo”, the contentious property belonging to the family of late Dr. Olusola Saraki, that was demolished by authorities on the order of state governor, Abdulrahman Adbulrazak.
The Saraki family Monday though its lawyer, Abdulazeez Ibrahim said it is however yet to serve the injunction on the government and the governor because the order was secured late in the day.
“It is true that we secured a court injunction against the state government, but it took place at the closing hours, so no enroll order was available for the concerned parties,” he said, according to media reports.
The state government claims the land was wrongfully appropriated to the deceased, who controlled political power in the state for decades before his death. The Sarari family accuse Governor Abdulrazak of being vindictive and playing politics of vendetta.
