October 9, (THEWILL) – The Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) division of the Lagos State High Court, has sentence Drambi Vandi, an Assistant Superintendent (ASP) of Police, to death by hanging.
Justice Ibironke Harrison sentenced ASP Vandi to death after he was found guilty and convicted of murder.
The Lagos State Government had on January 16, arraigned Vandi before the court on a one-count of murder over the Christmas day killing of a 41-year-old Lagos property lawyer, Omobolanle Raheem.
The prosecution team, led by a former attorney general and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), accused Vandi of shooting to death, a pregnant lawyer, Mrs Raheem at the Ajah Roundabout on the Lekki Motorway on December 25, 2022.
The convict was arraigned on a one-count charge of murder contrary to Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
