
SAN FRANCISCO, April 30, (THEWILL) – Jigawa State has recorded its first COVID-19 death, as the total number of confirmed cases increases to nine.
This was confirmed by the commissioner of health and the chairman of the task force on COVID-19, Dr Abba Zakari, in a press briefing in Dutse the state Capital.
Zakari stated that the local Governments affected which include Dutse, Gwaram, Miga, and Auyo will join Kazaure, Birninkudu, Gumel and Gujungu town of Taura local Government for a total lockdown by Friday midnight.
The Commissioner added that the State Government would begin the distribution of food items to various local governments affected.
He, however, call on the general public to remain steadfast and abide by the measures as directed by the state government.
