SAN FRANCISCO, January 11, (THEWILL) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may be extending its ongoing investigation into the $2.1bn arms procurement scandal to former Vice-President Namadi Sambo.
According to sources, operatives of the anti-graft agency were looking into the files and documents that link the former Vice President to the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki who is being investigated.
The former VP’s office was being investigated because some of the funds disbursed by the former NSA had to do with the financing of the PDP presidential campaign in the North which the former VP coordinated in many parts of the North.
The source alleged that a former special assistant to Sambo, Abba Dabo, was paid N25m on December 16, 2014 by Destra Investment, a company owned by the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh, who is currently in detention.
