May 29, (THEWILL) – The Peoples Democratic Party’s Governor-elect for Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal, has been sworn in as the 5th Executive Governor of the state.
The Chief Judge of Zamfara State, Justice Kulu Aliyu, administered the oath of office to the new Governor and his Deputy, Malam Mani Mallam Mummuni.
Speaking after taking the oath of office, Lawal said he will focus mainly on security, agriculture, health and human development, stressing that he met an empty treasury from the immediate past administration
The new Governor solicited the support of the people and urged them to bear with his administration because he inherited huge liabilities.
He, however, assured the people of the state that he would do everything within his constitutional power not to disappoint them, as they massively voted for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking further, Lawal said, “Those bandits that have refused to repent, I appeal to you to drop your arms and let us work together to reposition Zamfara State.”
