May 19, (THEWILL) — As Nigeria grapples with rising cooking gas prices and worsening energy supply shortages, DEER Nigeria has launched the third version of its digital energy platform, designed to simplify access to cooking gas, diesel, electricity tokens, and solar solutions.
The launch comes at a critical time for consumers already burdened by soaring energy costs. The price of a 12.5kg cooking gas cylinder has jumped from ₦16,250 in April to ₦18,750 this week, representing a 15.3 percent increase within one month. Industry checks show that only a handful of depots, including Dangote Refinery, Ardova Plc, and Navgas, currently maintain commercial LPG volumes in Lagos, worsening supply pressures across the market.
Operated by Damaje Engineering and Energy Resources Limited, DEER Nigeria says its upgraded V3 platform uses artificial intelligence to monitor users’ energy consumption patterns and predict when supplies are likely to run out. The system then enables automatic restocking before disruption occurs, allowing households and businesses to order products directly through a mobile interface with doorstep delivery.
The company argues that Nigeria’s energy challenge is less about production and more about inefficient distribution and poor access. While the country produces most of the LPG required for domestic consumption, consumers still rely heavily on fragmented informal supply chains that often lack pricing transparency, delivery reliability, and proactive service.
According to DEER Nigeria Founder and CEO, Abdulmajeed Amussah, the platform is designed to remove uncertainty from energy procurement by guaranteeing transparent pricing, verified quality, and dependable delivery.
The platform also includes a dual-wallet system, loyalty rewards, and bonus credits to encourage repeat usage. DEER Nigeria is targeting 2,000 sign-ups before the end of June as it seeks to establish itself in Nigeria’s increasingly competitive energy distribution market.
