November 15, (THEWILL) – Deloitte LLP, a leading audit and consulting company in the United States, has reportedly denied that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was once an employee of the company.
This new development is contrary to the revelation by Tinubu in an interview where he disclosed how he made his money.
In the interview with TheNews Magazine, the former Lagos State Governor is reported to have said he had a salary deposit of about $1.8million while working with Deloitte and Touche.
“My bonus was $850,000 before taxes. My salaries were also being paid into the bank and I was not touching them. At the time, my salary deposit in the bank had risen to $1.8million”, he said.
While trying to dig deep into the claims by Tinubu, Investigative Journalist, David Hundeyin, said he subpoenaed Deloitte USA for the employment records of the APC Candidate.
His findings were posted on his verified Twitter handle, @DavidHundeyin, where it was reported that Deloitte could not produce any record with the name sent for inquiry.
The letter from Deloitte, dated September 20, 2022, signed by Tish Negron, Senior Legal Specialist, partly read, “We received a subpoena 16 September 2022, seeking employment records for Bola Tinubu, SSN…. Please be advised that we have no record of Bola Tinubu in our systems, and as such have no employment records for them.”

Responding to the development, Bayo Onanuga, Director, Media and Publicity, Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, on Monday, urged the public to ignore social media propaganda.
Onanuga said the focus of the party is on the flag off of its presidential campaign rally in Jos.
“Do you believe everything you read on social media? Right now, our focus is on our festival in Jos tomorrow. We will not respond to irrelevant questions”, he said.
