DG ECOWAS Food, Cultural Festival Ambassador Ihonre Appointed Nigeria's Country Rep Of Global Organisation

October 20, (THEWILL) – The World JUNKANOO Festival of Tourism and Culture/World Carnival Commission (WCC), in partnership with the Canadian Government, has appointed the Director General of the ECOWAS Food and Cultural Festival, Amb. Prince Felix Ihonre, as Nigeria’s Country Representative/Regional Coordinator for Arts and Culture on the board of International Secretariat of the JUNKANOO Festival.

A statement issued by Cde Ernest Awakessien, Chairman, Spokesperson (LOC), ECOWAS Food And Cultural Festival, said Amb. Ihonre will work directly with the Executive Director, Mr. Vincent Boakye, in Canada.

He will liaise with the relevant Federal Government MDAs in Nigeria and other ECOWAS regions to mobilise and coordinate the participation of delegates to the event scheduled for 21-26 May, 2024 in Ontario, Canada

The appointment takes immediate effect.

“Amb Felix Ihonre, who hails from Edo State, has built varied experience, which spans over two decades working with Nigerian youths on sustainable development in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

“As a one-time youth Ambassador to the United Nations, Prince Ihonre had been at the forefront of promoting youth policies at the global level through advocacy, recommendations and sponsorship of youth-oriented programmes.

“This latest appointment is expected to cement his global influence in culture and tourism as a major gateway toward achieving a robust creative economy,” the statement added.
