Edo APC Vice ChaThe Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, has been released hours after he was arrested by the Police.
Tenebe was arrested on Thursday morning, in his Ikabigbo home town, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
Although details about his arrest were sketchy, Tenebe, who is a popular mobiliser for the APC and strong loyalist of the former State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, had allegedly, in a recent video, accused the Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, of sundry issues.
In a press conference in Benin City on Tuesday, the APC alleged that the State Government planned to rig Saturday’s election, using thugs in various disguises.
However, the State Treasurer of the APC, Ahmed Ekekhide Mahmud, confirmed his release to newsmen on Thursday afternoon.
“APC Deputy State Chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, who was arrested early hour this morning by Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has just been released around 10:30 am today, 16th March 2023, by the State Commissioner of police,” he said.irman Tenebe Released Hours After Police Arrest
