SAN FRANCISCO, October 16, (THEWILL) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is questioning a former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and current Senate minority leader, Chief Godswill Akpabio over his stewardship as Governor of Akwa Ibom State from 2007-2015.
Akpabio, who had been previously invited by the EFCC, arrived the headquarters of the agency in Abuja this evening in the company of lawyers led by Mr. Ricky Tarfa and some aides.
A senior EFCC official who spoke to THEWILL on condition of anonymity said the politician has not been arrested. The official said he was just being questioned as part of investigations.
As at the time of this report, Mr. Akpabio was still at the facility.
