BEVERLY HILLS, March 01, (THEWILL) –Â The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has again recovered items worth millions of Naira from a former Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Abdullahi Inde.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by Wilson Uwujaren, Head Media and Publicity of the commission.
Uwujaren said that the various items were recovered from a large warehouse located on Nnamdi Azikiwe Road Bye Pass, Kaduna, purportedly belonging to Inde.
The EFCC spokesman said that operatives of the Commission’s Kaduna Zonal office, acting on intelligence, stormed the facility on Tuesday, Feb. 28, and executed a search warrant which led to the recovery of the items.
The recovered items include: 42 brand new customised yellow-coloured tricycles; 16 brand new cargo motorcycles; one brand new white 32-seater Nissan civilian bus; one MAN Diesel Truck; and, 515 brand new imported rugs of different colours and sizes.
The EFCC spokesman said further that two metal bullet proof Safes with the sum of N1,565 (one thousand five hundred and sixty five thousand Naira only) were also recovered.
He added that documents of transactions in different currencies within and outside the country were part of the items recovered.
THEWILL recalls that the commission had on February 22 recovered 17 exotic vehicles in a warehouse belonging to the former Customs Boss, located at Nnamdi Azikwe Street, Kaduna.
