
November 10, (THEWILL) – The Economic and Finance Crimes Commission (EFCC), has said it will join other security outfits in the monitoring of the three off-cycle governorship elections, which will be held on Saturday, in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States.
The Commission said to checkmate electoral fraud and associated financial crimes, it has deployed its officers to Kogi, Bayelsa and Imo States, where governorship elections are happening on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
According to a release issued and signed by the Commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the monitoring operations are to tackle any form of voter inducement through vote buying, vote selling and other manipulation of the electoral processes at variance with the Electoral Act.
THEWILL recalls that vote buying and vote selling has been on the increase in the country’s election and all efforts are being put in place to curb the ugly trend.
