SAN FRANCISCO, May 08, (THEWILL) – The National Working Committee, NWC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC has chosen May 11, 2018 as date for the redo of its botched governorship primary in Ekiti State.
Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s spokesman announced the development in a press conference Tuesday in Abuja.
Last Saturday’s primary ended in fiasco when other governorship aspirants disrupted the exercise on allegations that former governor and serving Minister, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, who is an aspirant, had rigged the process.
“Perhaps, more importantly is that the exercise of Saturday is cancelled and would now be conducted this Friday, 11th May, 2018…
“The existing primary election committee is maintained, except the secretary who will now be substituted.”
Other members of the existing committee who would work alongside chairman, Gov. Umar Tanko al-Makura of Nasarawa state are Mr. Duke Oshodin, Barr. Robert Okwuego and Mr. Tunde Balogun.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is holding its own governorship primary today.
