March 12, (THEWILL) — The Nigerian equities market closed Thursday’s trading session on a positive note as renewed buying interest lifted key market indicators, reversing the losses recorded in the previous session.
At the close of trading, market capitalisation increased from N125.750 trillion at the opening of the session to N126.398 trillion, representing a gain of N648 billion in investor value.
Similarly, the benchmark NGX All-Share Index advanced from 195,898.54 points to 196,908.76 points, reflecting improved investor sentiment across several market segments.
Market breadth closed evenly balanced, with 30 gainers and 30 losers, indicating a mixed trading session despite the overall positive performance of the market.
Buying interest was observed in several mid-cap stocks, pushing several equities to the top of the gainers’ chart.
Top Gainers:
1 FTNCOCOA 10.00 percent (opened at N5.70 and closed at 6.27).
