November 02, (THEWILL) – Made Kuti, the grandson of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, late Afrobeat legend, has tied the knot with Inedoye Onyeso, his lover.
The simple, yet stunning ceremony, took place in Lagos on Wednesday.
The couple exchanged vows in the presence of a few close friends and family, including Femi Kuti, Made’s father; his mum, Funke Kuti; Yeni Kuti, Made’s aunty; as well as Nollywood actresses, Kate Henshaw, Shaffy Bello etc.
The singer engaged Inedoye in 2022. He said he could not wait to build a future with Inedoye, adding that even though there was pain in the world, life was still worth living with her.
“She said YES @_inedoye. Newest fiance and fiancee in town,” he wrote on Instagram.
“There is a lot of pain in the world every day, but sharing that pain and fighting for a better world with you makes it all worth living for. I cannot wait to see the future we build together. I love you.”
Revealing how they met, Made disclosed that he and Inedoye attended the same high school. The Afrobeat star also revealed that his wife was his school daughter back then.
Made said he started to develop emotional feelings towards her after he graduated from the university.
“About 7 years later, in 2018 like she said. I came back from uni, I just graduated and it picked up from there,” he said.
“We had this history and a bright future apparently. We have been officially together for three years, today is our anniversary and it was November 1, 2020 post-COVID, we had just been isolated for God knows how long and we finally met people and from there, we started talking.”
When asked to mention what he likes the most about Inedoye, Made replied, “Her smile. I can live with that smile for the rest of my life”.
Made is a songwriter and instrumentalist. He released his debut album, titled ‘Forward’ in 2021.
Last year, his collaborative work with Femi Kuti, his father titled ‘Legacy+’, was nominated for the Best Global Music Album category at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
