May 21, (THEWILL) – On Monday, another major change transpired in the nation’s aviation industry, following the removal of the Acting Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, Mr Mathew Pwajok.

An industry source hinted THEWILL that Pwajok has been replaced by the Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards (DAAS), Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Engr. Tayib Adetunji Odunowo.

Pwajok’s removal is coming few days after the removal of some top officials in the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

He was appointed in acting capacity in February 2022 and had since exceeded the six months acting stewardship of the agency.

In reaction, most stakeholders in the aviation sector have frowned at the move, stating that any decision of the Minister to appoint a new Director General, Managing Directors or Directors with barely ten days to the eve of the new administration, forecloses the opportunity for new presidential appointees that will be more suited to the agenda of the incoming administration.
