August 30, (THEWILL) – The federal government has disclosed plans to employ 20,000 young Nigerian graduates in fully paid one-year roles in public and private organisations.

The presidential spokesperson, Tolu Ogunlesi, disclosed this.

According to Ogunlesi, President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to announce this on Tuesday when applications for the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme and its host organizations officially commence.

The programme aims to place 20,000 skilled young Nigerian graduates under 30 in jobs in private and public sector organizations in Nigeria.

The jobs, billed for 12 months, will be fully paid and further help to prepare graduates for their future careers and work environments.

He said the programme’s goals include “improving employability, building useful career and leadership skills in young graduates, and connecting employers and potential employees.”

The programme is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
