February 24, (THEWILL) — Fidelity Bank Plc has launched the second edition of its flagship women-empowerment initiative, the HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme 2.0 (HAP 2.0), to equip Nigerian women with practical, income-generating skills and pathways to sustainable entrepreneurship.

Unveiled ahead of its official kick-off, HAP 2.0 builds on the success of the inaugural programme held in 2023 and reflects the bank’s continued commitment to expanding economic opportunities for women.

At a media briefing ahead of the programme launch, Osita Ede, Divisional Head of Product Development at Fidelity Bank, said the enhanced second edition incorporates stronger strategic partnerships and deeper mentorship support to ensure participants not only acquire skills, but also transition into profitable, sustainable businesses.

“HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme 2.0 reflects our commitment to continuous improvement. Having evaluated feedback from the first edition, we have returned with stronger partnerships and deeper mentorship programmes to ensure that women acquire not just skills, but sustainable economic opportunities”, Ede said.

Comprehensive Training and Support Participants in HAP 2.0 will benefit from:

Intensive apprenticeship training under reputable institutions and industry experts in fields such as hair styling, shoemaking, auto mechatronics, and interior decoration.

Business advisory services, including business and financial literacy training to help women manage and scale their ventures.

Ongoing mentorship throughout the apprenticeship journey, providing guidance, networking, and practical business insights.

Access to Fidelity Bank’s women-focused and SME financial solutions, helping participants formalise and grow their enterprises.

Ede emphasised that the programme goes beyond skills acquisition, reinforcing women’s roles as job creators, innovators, and economic contributors in their communities.

HAP 2.0 aligns with the bank’s broader mission to help individuals grow, businesses thrive, and economies prosper. Fidelity Bank, which serves over 10 million customers through its extensive digital channels and 255 business offices across Nigeria, has positioned the programme as a core element of its support for inclusive economic growth.

Participants and interested applicants are being encouraged to engage with the programme as part of Fidelity Bank’s expanding efforts to boost female entrepreneurship and sustainable business development across the country.
